STEP 1

Calculate your YES Target on the YES website using our calculator

The YES Calculator allows you to input salient data to calculate your YES Target.

STEP 2

Register your company

  • Register your details on the Company Portal to create your unique profile.
  • The Company Portal has a unique ID and password login and will store all data relevant to your YES journey.
  • Please ensure that you have sent YES your vendor film and that YES has filled it in ‘add web address here or’ click here
  • Generate and pay invoice once you’ve registered. Ensure you’ve checked and understand our Ts & Cs
  • Upon registration, the YES system will generate an invoice for your entity.
  • A matched payment from your entity will open the YES Youth placement menu and options. It will also generate an official membership certificate
  • Wait 48 hours for the payment to reflect

 

STEP 3

Register your youth placement

  • Decide whether you want to place your YES Youth internally or externally
  • Youth headcount can be placed in any combination:
    1. Inside your firm;
    2. On your payroll;
    3. Outside your firm;
    4. Not on your payroll.
  • If you do not have the capacity to place youth within your own organisation, the YES turnkey solution is for you!
  • YES has 35 vetted Implementation Partners across ten sectors ranging from digital to healthcare, conservation to education and more!

  • Pay monitoring and evaluation (M&E) fee for placement and wait 48 hours.
  • Each placement attracts a YES per head once-off fee of R 1,700 R5,000, R7,000, or R9,700. This fee covers a phone, cutting edge content, and important surveys and material for youth and employers.
  • Be sure to check IDs to ensure that your youth are South African and that youth have not yet participated in and completed more than eight months of a YES programme before. Determine whether youth are unemployed, and provide the youth affidavit which can be accessed on the YES website.

 

STEP 4

Register your youth

  • Upload your youth, your supervisor and your delivery details.
  • Youth M&E payment, along with the successful upload of your youth, will trigger phones delivery to youth.
  • You can expect phones to be delivered 4-6 weeks from the date of the successful youth upload.
  • Download your ticket to verification, the Membership Affidavit and Confirmation letter. Remember to send your signed CEO pledge to YES per programme.

TIMELINE OF WHAT’S NEXT OVER THE COMING YEAR

  • A supervisor induction will be scheduled with the YES team
  • Your supervisors should have also completed the first supervisor survey.
  • Once phones have been delivered and RICAed, a digital or face-to-face induction will be scheduled with the YES team
  • The YES induction session takes place with your YES Youth to ensure that youth make the most of their one-year YES work experience! This session aims to get your youth to engage with their “YESFutureReady” training app and with the monitoring and evaluation app. App engagement will aid in the achievement of a CV and reference letter for the youth, as well as the ability for [Company] to claim up to 50% of its skills development spend back (Category F and G).
  • Baseline survey to be completed by youth
  • Receive first company report
  • By the end of month 2, youth should be 20% of the way through their modules
  • Ensure youth are submitting data through both the YES4Youth and YESLife mobile applications for the optimisation of your programme.
  • Ensure supervisors are submitting data through the Supervisor mobile application surveys for the optimisation of your programme.
  • Ensure that at least 8 months before your next verification, you’ve registered for YES programme 2
  • Ensure the collection and storage of relevant records required for financial year-end by B-BBEE verification agencies. This includes:
    • the YES registration certificate
    • IDs of placed youth
    • Payslips
    • 12-month contracts
  • By month 4, youth should have completed 40% of their online modules
  • Ensure youth are submitting data through both the YES4Youth and YESLife mobile applications for the optimisation of your programme.
  • At month 4, all supervisors must complete the second supervisor survey
  • Ensure supervisors are submitting data through the Supervisor mobile application surveys for the optimisation of your programme.
  • Youth should be 60% of the way through their online modules by month 6
  • Ensure youth are submitting data through both the YES4Youth and YESLife mobile applications for the optimisation of your programme.
  • At month 7, the third supervisor survey should be completed
  • Keep checking your youth data on the Company Portal to keep abreast of your youth, their progress, and any drop-offs (drop-offs need to be replaced within a month)
  • It is a possibility that during the course of your programme, some youth may drop out. This can happen for various reasons. If more than 5% of your registered YES Youth drop out, the difference will need to be replaced. For example, if you have 50 youth uploaded, and four drop off, you will need to replace two (50 x 5% = 2.5).
  • You will receive the quarter 2 company report
  • If any of your youth drop off after month 8, there is no need to find replacements
  • From month 8, the offboarding process begins.
  • A template of the CV and reference letter for the youth will be generated and sent to supervisors at month 8
  • Verify your youth documents and contact details
  • Ensure youth complete the endline survey
  • Inform youth and YES of absorption
  • Youth should have completed 80% of their online modules by month 8.
  • Ensure youth are submitting data through both the YES4Youth and YESLife mobile applications for the optimisation of your programme.

At month 10, the fourth supervisor survey should be completed

  • In month 11, the CVs and reference letters should be complete and reviewed by supervisors.
  • Verification process begins in month 11of your next financial year-end
  • Ensure the collection and storage of relevant records required for financial year-end by B-BBEE verification agencies. This includes:
    • the YES registration certificate
    • IDs of placed youth
    • Payslips
    • 12-month contracts
  • In month 12, the CVs, completion certificates and reference letters are sent to youth
  • Month 12: Youth have completed all their modules
  • Month 12: your first YES programme is complete!

Month 13: Inform YES of B-BBEE Level Up and upload certificate onto Company Portal
