What does it cost to join SA Youth or to access work opportunities?

SA Youth is 100% free for everyone – the site is zero-rated and requires no data. Please note that no SA Youth staff members or their partners will ask you for money at any point. Please always be vigilant for any possible scams.

Can the opportunity close before the closing date? I have tried to apply to a job but it says it has reached the maximum amount of applications?

All opportunities have a closing date displayed, however, in some instances the employer has indicated the maximum number of applicants they want to receive – if this happens before the closing date is reached, the system will tell you and you will be unable to apply. This is why it is so important to log in every day to apply for available opportunities.

How will I know if my application was received?

Once you apply, the mobi-site will display a message saying that your application has been received. This is your confirmation, you can also view opportunities you have applied for under APPLICATIONS. Plus, if you try to apply again it will tell you that you have already applied.

However, if the opportunity is not with a registered SA Youth partner you will have to follow the link and leave the mobi-site to apply. You can then communicate directly with the opportunity holder.

The mobi-site says that I am already registered, but I have never registered?

If you have previously registered on harambee.mobi or on tshepo.mobi you will automatically be registered on sayouth.mobi. So just log in using those details.

If you cannot remember your password please select the option “Forgot password” and if you are using the phone number or email address that you originally registered with, you will receive a link via SMS or email to reset your password. However, if you have changed your phone number you will need to call 0800 727272 for help resetting your password.

Please always keep your details up to date so that you don’t miss out on any opportunities.

Where can I go if I need support to register on SAYouth.mobi or if I struggle to apply for opportunities?

Email SA Youth on support@sayouth.org.za

How do young people apply for these opportunities?

Go to www.sayouth.mobi (zero-rated) and register. Once you have registered, jobs that match your profile will be recommended to you – plus you can also search for certain types of jobs! You can apply for many of the opportunities on the mobi-site, for others you will need to click through to external sites to apply.

What opportunities are available through SA Youth?

There are many different ways to upskill yourself and find ways to start earning money. The SA Youth platform includes skilling opportunities, jobs, learnerships, apprenticeships, volunteer opportunities as well as support tools for those who have or want to have a small business of their own.

Updating your profile regularly ensures that opportunities that suit you can be recommended when you log on.  A variety of new opportunities are uploaded daily, therefore it is important to log on regularly to search.

I have already registered. When will the placement of work opportunities start?

We are currently in the process of creating work opportunities, which is a complex and lengthy process. However, our team is working tirelessly to fulfil our mandate of creating thousands of work opportunities for the unemployed youth of South Africa. Once we have created these experiences, we will then begin to make placements. If you have registered, we will be in touch with you.

What qualifications are you looking for? Can someone without a university qualification register?

YES is aimed at all unemployed youth between the ages of 18-34 years, regardless of the level of education you have obtained. We encourage all youth that meet this criteria to register on our website: https://sayouth.mobi/

Are you able to help the youth that live in rural areas?

YES is aimed at all the unemployed, South African youth and we encourage all youth, wherever they are situated in the country to register. We will address the youth residing in rural areas and there will be no need to relocate to urban centres.
