SAYouth is a free and zero-rated national platform that connects talented and engaged work seekers to various opportunities including – YES, Full-time jobs, Part-time jobs, learnerships, volunteering and learning opportunities.

This platform transforms the work seeking experience of young South Africans from being complicated and costly to one which is accessible and less expensive.

SA Youth is supported by the Presidency, Yes4Youth, National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) and Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator as part of the Presidential Youth Employment Intervention.

SA Youth has multiple channels including:

  • Free mobi site which is the entry point for work seekers looking for learning and earning opportunities
  • An outbound line that welcomes youth to the network and provides support and guidance on skills development
  • A toll free line to support youth through their work-seeking journey
  • A whatsapp chatbot with activities and challenges for youth looking to start or grow their hustle

What to expect


To be considered for work experience placements please register your details with YES. We will email you to confirm your registration. We will then send emails with updates. Start by registering here

Get ready

Building work experience placements takes time. While we’re working hard to do so, we’d like you to work hard too. Complete the available work readiness modules online to get ready for your YES journey. Access the work readiness modules by downloading the toolkits below.


This part is up to you. YES, it's clients and partners consider everyone in the area with matching skills. You may be called in for an interview by the employer. Remember that to get the job you need to put your best foot forward. So, dress as smart as you can, speak with confidence, make eye contact, and smile.


Awesome! If you are shortlisted, interviewed and selected by the employer, you’ll be sent an offer for the work experience placement. If you decide to take the placement, you’ll sign a contract with the business that you will be working for.

At work

Now you are on your way! When you start your placement, you will be given a smartphone. Along with your work duties, you will also need to fill in surveys on the YES app. When you complete your work experience, you will leave with new skills, an updated CV and a reference letter – all of this helps you find your next job!

Speak to friends and family members. If they are working – find out how they found their job and ask for advice on how to find a job. If you’re struggling to find a job, you can also just ask for support and motivation while you try to find one!

Supervisor App FAQs

  1. What will happen to my data from previous engagement and app?

All data and previous engagement have been migrated to the new platform. Surveys completed in the previous app will be available on the new supervisor platform. If a supervisor were in the middle of completing a survey in the old platform, their survey questions would remain in the older survey version. All new surveys undertaken in the new platform have been reduced and made shorter.

  1. My youth allocation and surveys aren’t available; how can this be resolved?

We understand that during the migration to the new platform, there might be misalignment between youth allocated to the supervisor and surveys not readily available, if youth assigned is incorrect or surveys are not available. Please contact your YES programme manager or person responsible for overseeing the YES programme and ask whether your details have been correctly captured on the youth uploader. Furthermore, please email a copy of the youth uploader, company information and your contact details to supervisor@yes4youth.co.za. We will urgently resolve this with our developers on the backend.

  1. I have never engaged or done a survey; can I continue?

Yes, even if it is your first time logging into the platform or you are engaging for the first time. All surveys for youth are retroactively available.

  1. I’m a new supervisor, and a previous supervisor completed or was engaging on the surveys – does this effect the youth surveys?

All youth surveys use a unique identifier to keep track of surveys completed. If a previous supervisor had engaged, you can continue where they left off. As long as the information of the new supervisor is updated on the youth uploader, the allocation will be correct, and surveys completed, and outstanding are matched to the youth.

  1. What will happen to my old supervisor app?

We will phase out access to the old supervisor app by the end of October 2021. All supervisors need to engage on the old app. If they log into the new app, they will be reminded of the email sent inviting them to the new platform to start engaging

  1. When will Android and iOS be available?

As of 30 September 2021, YES has applied for a new supervisor app on iOS and Android. The approval process takes roughly 21 days, and we expect the app version to be available on the respective platforms by the  November 2021. Supervisors can engage using a web or mobile browser whilst YES awaits approval.

  1. I’m using Huawei and have a different operating system. Will the supervisor app be available on Huawei?

We are trying to understand the number of supervisors that require access to the app on Huawei. YES is investigating the use case for the platform and necessary information needed to make the app available on Huawei operating system. Please send a request to supervisor@yes4youth.co.za if you are a Huawei user.

  1. I’m struggling to navigate the platform; how can I get a user guide?

We are currently putting together a user guide and manual for the new supervisor platform. New features are going into the build-in in October 2021. The user guide will be available in November 2021.

  1. Is there onboarding for supervisors?

All new programmes starting from 1 October 2021 will be onboarded to the new supervisor platform.

During October, YES will be running open sessions (Fridays from 10:00 to 12:00) to assist supervisors in navigating the platform and help address any issues or challenges.
